Race week and the heat is on…
With a return to scorching temps set to hit the region again this week, the golden sands of Newcastle’s iconic Stockton dunes will shimmer and burn as Red Bull Dune Dusters competitors prepare for Australia’s most gruelling soft sand challenge.
From 10.30am this Sunday November 29 hundreds of competitors will slog it out across 10 kms of some of the most formidable dunes in the country.
The field for this year’s event will be close to double what participation was in the 2014 event, and around a third of the registered competitors are women.
Fitness fanatics will push themselves across dunes that are set against a backdrop of wide open skies, remote bush and a stunning ocean vista. With the race finale up a leg burning dune to the finish line.
Entry to the Red Bull Dune Dusters event will remain open at www.redbull.com.au/DuneDusters through until 5pm on Friday November 27 and is only $30 per person.
The male and female winners from 2015 will return to the Stockton dunes to defend their 2015 win at the first Red Bull Dune Dusters event in 2014.

08:30 – Registration and race number collection opens @ Murrook Centre, Nelson Bay Road @ Williamtown, NSW
09:30 – Competitor shuttle buses depart Murrook Centre to start line.
10:15 – Competitor Briefing
10.30 – Race Starts
12.30 – Presentation Ceremony
12.45 – Competitor shuttle buses depart for Murrook Centre
The race will take place at the Southern End of Stockton Beach. As parking and access is limited to the area we will run shuttle buses from the registration area at Murrook Centre to the start.

Heading towards Nelson Bay it is located 2.4km from Newcastle Airport turn off or if you are driving from Nelson Bay we are 31 kilometers from Victoria Parade.

Entries close 5pm Friday 27th November 2015 if places not filled prior.
Competitors must be over the age of 16 on the day of the event. Those under 16 must have the waiver signed by a legal guardian.

Competitor’s entry fee includes:
- Race number with timing chip
- Transport to and from the start/finish area from Murrook Centre
- Water and Red Bull on course and post-race recovery area.
- Red Bull Dune Dusters limited edition bandana
All competitors must agree and sign the waiver and release form. Minors (under 18 on day of event) must have a waiver signed by a legal guardian.
Competitors will receive a bib with a unique number for the event. The bib must be worn at all times during the event with the number visible. You can keep it after the event.
