Raffles’ Very Own Gateway To Fiji?

image017image016 (1)With getting to and from the islands in Fiji often meaning a Nadi stopover, finding a great, quality spot to lay your weary head in Nadi on the way out or back, especially with a family, could be a tad challenging … well that is until I discovered Raffles Gateway Hotel.

Perfectly located right across the road to the airport, Raffles Gateway, sister hotel to Plantation Island Resort and Lomani Island Resort in the Mamanuca Group of Islands, has been around since 1969, but the owners, the Raffe family have clearly undertaken some pretty massive refurbishment and upgrading, making the Raffles Gateway a smart, modern hotel, yet retaining its character in a rather charming art deco and colonial style.

Raffles Gateway has 92 newly refurbished and upgraded rooms that they say suit all budgets including deluxe, deluxe family rooms and suites and I was fortunate to be staying in a suite, which was very smart indeed, with the rates at Raffles Gateway seeming very good, with children under 16 yrs staying for free when sharing with their parents

Also for those getting an evening flight from Nadi, day rates are available, but if you don’t want to book a room Raffles Gateway generously provides an invitation for free use of the pool and towels and free transfer to and from the airport – all you have to do is click here to download the invitation: Click here to download.

There are a number of food outlets and restaurants including Palm Court for al fresco dining and breakfast, Bure Restaurant for a la carte and fine dining, and the Pool Bar and Cocohut for coffees, drinks and cocktails.

Raffles Gateway Hotel is now home to state of the art conference facilities, with new meeting rooms designed to accommodate small to large business meetings and private functions and cater up to 120 guests, plus private secretariat rooms, variable styles of set up and spacious breakout rooms.

Raffles Gateway provides 24hr room service, safety deposit boxes, Sky TV, a gym, a guest ironing room, daily maid service, babysitting, assistance with local on-call doctor’s services and transport to Nadi or Lautoka public hospital can be arranged, a boutique gift shop, a tours desk, car rental desk and courtly airport shuttle.
