Chief Executive James Dunne says that with Rail Plus already giving agents 24/7 access to the cheapest fares for France, Italy, Spain and the UK, the addition of Germany represents the last piece in the puzzle.

“Our direct connection with the Deutsche Bahn system opens up a range of cheaper and more convenient fares, which are now available through our multiple booking channels, including online 24 hours a day, seven days a week through www.railplus.com.au,” says Dunne.

As a result of the new Deutsche Bahn link, agents are now able to book tickets that are up to 60% cheaper than regular fares. Examples include:

Route Class Previously Now*
Frankfurt-Cologne First $205 $73
Second $130 $57
Berlin-Munich First $396 $105
Second $244 $95

*Lead-in fares

Travellers will also have access to convenient ticketing on departure (TOD) fares, which allow passengers to print their own tickets from machines located at German train stations. Additional benefits include lower seat reservation fees and access to all night train services.
