Ratchaprasong Fills Air Of Happiness With New Art Fest “STRONGER TOGETHER With Street Arts At Ratchaprasong”

Stronger Together - 004Ratchaprasong is drumming up the joy of its district with a motley showcase of street arts, including graffiti, installation arts, typography and paintings during the period of “STRONGER TOGETHER with Street Arts at Ratchaprasong”. Thai people nationwide are invited to share out happiness from the works of art shown in Ratchaprasong and jointly declare full confidence and readiness to receive visitors from around the world during the season of joy late this year.

 Mr Chai Srivikorn, President of Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA), said, “As a resident of Ratchaprasong and the organisation behind lifestyle evolution in this district for a long time, RSTA is delighted to co-host “STRONGER TOGETHER with Street Arts at Ratchaprasong” festival with all our neighbours in Ratchaprasong. The festival will top up happiness and help our district live up to its reputation as the heart of Bangkok’s downtown and a blissful neighbourhood of Bangkok. It brings together art pieces delightfully created in various forms of street arts, including graffiti, installation arts, typography and paintings. They were contributed by Thai and international artists in a unity to express inexhaustible joy and strength of Ratchaprasong and Thailand that keep all of us ready to move forward unremittingly.”

Ms Nattaporn Chevamongkol, Vice President, Office Building and Plaza Management, The Erawan Group Plc, said: “As an operator of hotel and shopping centre businesses in Ratchaprasong, we are glad to be part of the new effort to invigorate this district and Thailand at large. The festival will greatly enhance visitors’ perception of Ratchaprasong, especially their impression of the hotels, office buildings and shopping centres in Ratchaprasong that are fully ready to receive tourists as well as business and MICE travellers. Thai visitors are also invited to come to Ratchaprasong, which signifies the confidence in this district and its readiness to welcome international tourists from around the world who are planning their year-end holiday.”

Mr Isareit Chirathivat, Vice President of CentralWorld, Central Pattana Plc, said on behalf of shopping centres within Ratchaprasong: “The festival will certainly animate Ratchaprasong tourism and perfectly complement lifestyles of all visitors. In addition to this festival, the high season at the end of this year will witness various happenings and special promotions being launched by shopping centres across Ratchaprasong to attract shoppers into the district. The season will draw in both independent tourists and tour groups for a new shopping spree at Ratchaprasong.”

The “STRONGER TOGETHER with Street Arts at Ratchaprasong” festival features following works at 11 areas of Ratchaprasong:

  1. A painting titled ‘Stronger with Pink’ by famous illustrator siblings Nualtong and Pattreeda Prasarnthong, shown in front of Gaysorn
  2. Graffiti named ‘Fun & Family’ on a large typographic installation that reads ‘STRONGER TOGETHER’ by Kittipong Khamsat, member of Buddha Bless band, on exhibit at Gaysorn corner of Ratchaprasong intersection
  3. A twelve-metre graffiti titled ‘Stronger Together’ by a group of Thailand’s leading graffiti artists P7, Rukkit, Chip7, Nev3r, Zids and TRK, on display in front of Amarin Plaza
  4. A sticker collage on a large sculpture of the iconic Amarin Bear by OH+ FUTON in front of Amarin Plaza
  5. ‘Blooming Love’ by Sombatsara Teerasaroch and team from Tue Co Ltd, a leading event organiser in Thailand, on exhibit on the stretch of Skywalk between Gaysorn and Amarin Plaza
  6. A painting titled ‘Strongly Protection’ by illustrator Somnuek Klangnok on the stretch of Skywalk between Gaysorn and Amarin Plaza
  7. I LOVE BANGKOK by Chalit Nakpawan, which is exhibited on the Skywalk at the entrance of Amarin Plaza
  8. A painting titled ‘Together We’re Stronger’ by DSTGR CREW from Ductstore The Design Guru Co., Ltd., shown in front of InterContinental Bangkok Hotel
  9. ‘Keep Forward with Strength’ by illustrator and character designer Tongyoz Boonplitpol, on display in front of Erawan Bangkok Department Store
  10. An Illustrator by New York-based artist Jeremy Ville, on show in front of [email protected]
  11. Graffiti by Spankystudio, on exhibit in front of The Platinum Fashion Mall (Pratunam)

Thai and international visitors are also welcomed to make their contribution to this art festival for a collective expression of love and encouragement. All are invited to draw or write on the typographic installation measuring 1.6 x 25 metres in front of Amarin Plaza that reads ‘STRONGER TOGETHER’. They can take their selfies with the artworks and share them with hashtag #strongertogetherbkk on Facebook or Instagram to show the unity and strength of Thai people, representing the readiness to welcome visitors to Ratchaprasong and Thailand. To join this creative expression of love and encouragement, be at Ratchaprasong from today until 18 October 2015.
