Re-Inspire Dining Menus At Granny Mouse Country House & Spa

Granny Mouse Country House & Spa is always seeking out the best ways to re-create, re-invent and re-energise. Recently their fine dining Eaves restaurant menu was revamped and a magnificent Degustation Menu added; the Bistro fare was relooked and their irresistible wine selection was rewarded. This makes Granny Mouse quite resplendent.

The Eaves menu is an ever evolving work in progress, focusing as much as possible on the finest seasonal ingredients available. Adding to the flamboyant fare, Chef has paired an enticing, flavour packed Gourmet adventure for guests to experience the real tastes of Eaves. Pairing wine and fine cuisine Granny Mouse has entered another realm with its seasonal Degustation Menu, recommendations including:

·         Baked Brie in Phyllo Pastry, Apricot Almond Chutney, Preserved Figs, Nougatine Boplaas Ruby Port

·         Or how about Sesame Tempura Prawns Rice Pilaf, Spinach, Thai Coconut Puree, Klein Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc – 2012,

·         Whilst for something more meaty, Lamb Loin, Rack and Sausage Bean and Zucchini Tomato Stew, Spicy Olive Tapenade, Fondant Potato

De Grendel Shiraz – 2011

·         All ended off quite decadently with Chocolate Fondant Orange Sorbet, Jelly, Orange Crème

This new approach has been introduced with the intention to offer diversity to the overall dining experience at Granny Mouse, and in so doing to appeal to both local and international visitors.

Offering a choice of delectable wines to accompany delicious food is very much at one with the Granny Mouse Country House & Spa’s ethos, where great care is constantly taken to ensure that the finest wines are available on this intimate hotel’s extensive wine list. Recently at the 2013 Diners Club Wine Awards, Granny Mouse once again was the superb recipient of the Diamond Award for their exclusive wine list, the fourth year in succession.

Another new menu to be launched this month is within the hotel’s Bistro more informal restaurant. Bursting with scrumptious delights including an utterly munchable children’s menu, this gourmet spot never fails to impress.  Locally harvested ingredients and succulent specialties complement each creation at The Bistro, and guests enjoy more homely food that resonates with the invitation to ‘come home to Granny Mouse’. From home-made beef or chicken burgers, to Lamb Shank, Seafood platters and a decadent choice of desserts, guests are bound to find something to please their palates.
