It’s that time of the year again to welcome the biggest business to business event this side of the gaming world – the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE). Celebrating its 27th year, AGE will take place 9 August through to 11 August, for the last time at Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island (SEC@GI).
The one-stop sourcing platform for the gaming and entertainment industry will see 193 exhibitors showcasing a full spectrum of leading-edge technologies, products and services across 20,000 square metres of exhibition space. Buoyed by the excitement with which the expo was received last year and the 16.5% increase in visitors, 11% more exhibitors have lined up for this year’s event putting the venue’s full footprint to work for what will be the event’s largest show floor ever.
Now widely regarded as one of the most influential events of its kind, AGE attracts exhibitors and visitors alike from the Asia-Pacific, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Europe who come to promote or experience what will shape the gaming industry for years to come.
“We’re very pleased by the high levels of interest and enthusiasm for AGE 2016, with 90% of exhibitor space taken up by March this year,” said Ross Ferrar, CEO of Gaming Technologies Association (GTA), the event organiser.
The show has also drawn 55 exhibitors who are making their first ever appearance at the event. “We are excited to welcome all our new exhibitors, their inclusion ensures that AGE remains fresh and stimulating,” said Ferrar.
Aside from increased capacity, new features in AGE 2016 include a visitor’s lounge that takes advantage of the panoramic harbour views, and an exhibitor’s sales area, which will preview AGE 2017. The event app for digital devices has also been updated and now features an interactive floor plan and more real time event information. Social registration via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter is also available for the first time.
There will again be complimentary ferries to Glebe Island from Darling Harbour, and complimentary buses leaving from both Central and Darling Harbour.
“AGE has enjoyed an extraordinary growth in the last few years. Every year the hard working GTA team has surprised us with their creative approaches,” said SEC@GI General Manager Malu Barrios. “AGE is a classic Glebe Island success story, and we’re proud to have been a part of it.”
It’s game over come move-out day until AGE 2017 returns to International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) at Darling Harbor for its 28th edition.
