Ambitious students and graduates will have the chance to gain vital work experience to kick-start their careers in the hotel industry, thanks to the first ever event that will shine a light on the diverse professional career pathways available in the hotel industry.
The Hotel Career Expo, which will take place on Monday 16th May 2016, at InterContinental Hotel, Sydney, will include a focus on ‘real-life experience’, thanks to its ‘Hotel Live Experience’ offering.
The Hotel Live Experience includes over 50 different packages with over 500 places available, created by some of the leading names in the hotel business – including Hilton, Accor, Shangri-La, Marriott and Four Seasons. The Hotel Live Experience will allow the next generation of hotel leaders to gain unique insights into the various professional pathways and careers available within the hotel industry.
Carol Giuseppi, CEO of Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA), which has organised the event, said: “Hands on experience and networking with key influencers are instrumental to career success and the Hotel Live Experience element of the Hotel Career Expo delivers just that.”
From a one week internship with the NSW President of The Australian Institute of Hotel Engineering, who is the Director of Engineering at Shangri-La, to a day of experience in Events Management working on a world-renowned sporting event with Accor at Olympic Park, there is an experience for just about every profession.
Carol continued: “These Hotel Live Experiences demonstrate the breadth of the professional career opportunities available in the industry, which students may not have thought existed in hotels for their chosen profession, and which go well beyond front of house roles.”
The 2016 Hotel Career Expo, Sydney is an industry first, and the only place students, graduates and young professionals seeking a career in hotels can access 20 of the most prestigious domestic and international hotel brands in one place and for one day only.
On the day, delegates will have access to some of the names behind some of the city’s best known establishments, who will provide insight into how they’ve developed successful careers and how attendees can emulate this success.
Also attending the event will be hotel engineers, finance experts and chefs, to name but a few. They will be highlighting how the hotel industry has helped their careers flourish.
