2014 VUSA Delegation 1The Visit USA Expos have concluded last week in Brisbane, after a record number of attendees at Expos across Australia.

The expos brought over 1200 travel professionals to an unforgettable event where they were able to say “Howdy” to the Texans, “Aloha” to the Hawaiians and rub noses with the Alaskans.

The US Consul General Mary Warlick in Melbourne and US Consul General Hugo Llorens in Sydney opened the Expos and each one providing very positive introductions.

Prizes were in abundance and the winning table was invited on stage. One lucky travel agent won tickets to Los Angeles aboard Air New Zealand and in excess of 13 nights accommodation including attractions and sightseeing tours across the USA.

The Visit USA Membership has more USA based members than Australian members and has enjoyed double digit growth year on year. This is thanks to the hard work of the volunteer board and with the USA being a current sought after destination.

Sydney’s show was over the top! I come every year to the Visit USA shows because they are fantastic. Well done to the organizing committee.”

“Australia is our biggest market and we are honored and privileged to meet the hard working Visit USA team who put on amazing, professionally run, hugely attended shows across this great country. We are so committed to this market that we enrol for the next year’s Expos before we leave. See you next year,” said Daniel Oppenheim, The Urban Safari.

Visit USA’s training of the travel trade continues when they roll out their regional shows to Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast throughout 2014.
