Reho Travel Takes Out Helloworld For Business Innovation Award 2015

Innovation was centre stage at the 2015 helloworld for business Summit in Hong Kong with the launch of the inaugural Innovation Award – and Reho Travel has come out on top.http://www.questexevent.com/IHIF/2015th/

The Innovation Award formally acknowledged Reho Travel as the leading innovator within the helloworld for business network. Reho Travel took out the award for becoming a certified B Corp (B Corporation) member, joining a community of companies worldwide who use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.

The innovative idea to register for B Corp certification came to light through the agency’s ongoing and dedicated support work in Malawi. At present, 10% of Reho’s profits are invested in a community bank in Malawi in partnership with Empower Projects whose vision is to enable 100 communities across Malawi and Sri Lanka to have the freedom, capacity and belief to transcend poverty by 2020.

“We engaged with other like-minded businesses and discovered B Corp, which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental issues. We were already working to make a positive change in the world, and now we are taking it one step further,” Reho Travel Managing Director, Karsten Horne said.
Reho gained B Corp certification by meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, and accountability.

“B Corp is the benchmark in identifying companies creating the most impact for a better world. By become B Corp certified, we are not only helping the communities we are committed to, but also adding value to our bottom line through being recognised as a leader in our efforts. Applying this philosophy not only achieved business improvements, but helped raise our profile on a global scale,” Karsten continued.

“Our goal of ‘standing for something’ and becoming B Corp certified has led to more invitations to tender and business wins in the last year than in the previous 3 years, with 50% of the businesses sharing the B Corp philosophy,” he said.
