Only 149 out of tens of thousands of practicing travel advisors in the United States were chosen.

The world renowned travel magazine publishes this distinguished list each year, segmenting it into destination specialists for countries and regions, as well as special interests. Catherine was noted for her work in South East Asia, with special mentions of Bhutan’s Himalayan towns and Myanmar’s tribal villages.

“I am humbled and honored to be considered for this prestigious list, let alone to have made the final cut. The credit is due not to me but to Remote Lands as a whole, to the amazing collaborative efforts of our teams in New York, Bangkok and all across Asia,” said Heald.

She continued, “We we pride ourselves on our creativity, attention to detail, personalized service, and deep knowledge of Asia. Each itinerary is uniquely crafted for each client according to their interests, needs, passions, and traveling style. It’s wonderful to see our hard work rewarded in this way.”

Condé Nast Traveler noted Catherine’s ability to tap her personal contacts in the region to create unique encounters and experiences rarely available to the general public. Remote Lands’ clients have dined with Asian Royalty, enjoyed private dining in the middle of Angkor Wat, and have met top celebrities from across the continent.
