As part of the signage spring clean, AFTA is running a #RIPtheSticker competition to go into the draw for a $5,000 Trafalgar cooperative marketing voucher for the best social media post showing removal of the old TCF stickers.

“AFTA is proud to have secured a significant partnership with the Tasmanian Government to run a major consumer campaign promoting the advantages of booking with an ATAS travel agency but before the campaign kicks off on 4 September, we need all agents to update in-store and online signage so that they get the full benefit of this initiative,” AFTA CEO Jayson Westbury said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our Tasmanian agencies to reinforce with consumers the peace of mind that comes with choosing an ATAS accredited agency and our#RIPtheSticker competition is a call to action to make sure we’re all ready to make the most of this campaign.  Proudly supporting the campaign, Trafalgar are offering one lucky winner a $5,000 Trafalgar cooperative marketing voucher to help you boost sales. So start ripping off those old stickers and sharing via #RIPtheSticker on Twitter.”

AFTA is partnering with the Tasmanian Government to launch the major consumer campaign promoting the advantages of booking with an ATAS travel agency. The campaign embraces TV, radio, print and online and will run throughout September and October.

Launching the initiative in Hobart today, the Minister responsible for Consumer Affairs, the Hon Guy Barnett MP said it was important that consumers knew the benefits of using accredited travel agents.

“I congratulate AFTA on their work in developing the ATAS accreditation scheme. Consumers should know that in choosing an ATAS accredited travel agent, they are accessing high quality advice and expertise from travel industry professionals, with links to some of the best suppliers and packages available,” Minister Barnett said.

“The Government is pleased to partner with AFTA in this campaign and looks forward to seeing awareness of the value of the ATAS accreditation scheme grow among the public and within the travel industry.’

Trafalgar Managing Director Matthew Cameron-Smith said the company was proud to partner with ATAS to provide the winning prize for the #RIPtheSticker competition.

“At Trafalgar, Travel Agents are our valued partners. With over 12,000 live reviews on our website, the trust of our guests is also critical and are proud to support the ATAS campaign promoting the benefits of booking with an accredited travel agent. So, rip off those old stickers and update with new signage today, and win!”
