As one of the fastest growing trends in travel at the moment, river cruising is also one of luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent’s most popular sellers.

It’s a relaxed and leisurely way to experience beautiful destinations and convenient. There’s no packing and moving on after each stop, ships are comfortable and well designed, most meals are included, guests are looked after with care and consideration and the daily stops offer fascinating insights into each country visited.

Here is a selection of A&K’s favourite river cruises.

Sanctuary Ananda

Launching in November 2014, Sanctuary Ananda will offer a variety of different cruises along the Ayeyarwady River and its tributary, the Chindwin, visiting places rarely seen before including the jungles of the north, forgotten villages and ancient towns near the Indian border. The 11day Myanmar in Style journey includes a four-night cruise on Sanctuary Ananda, with prices from $6,435 per person.

Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer

Setting the standard for cruising on the Yangzi River, Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer is the best way to explore China’s famed Three Gorges. Friendly and intimate with just 124 guests, onboard service is a highlight and the atmosphere more private club than cruise ship.
