SpiceRoads Cycling has just announced a new road cycling tour from Thailand to Malaysia in its latest launch of road cycling experiences. The 12-day multi-country ride begins in the beach-studded southern province of Krabi and ends in the bustling Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.
Thailand’s less-visited provinces of Trang and Satun offer visitors an authentic look at the culture and way of life in Southern Thailand, in addition to more natural and untouched coastal scenery, including several National Parks. From there, riders will cycle into Northern Malaysia, stopping for a full day in the historic Georgetown on the island of Penang. The tour builds to a peak in Malaysia’s Cameron Highlands, a jungled highland outpost surrounded by tea plantations and situated at over 2,000 meters above sea level. Riders finish off the tour in vibrant and modern Kuala Lumpur, having ridden just over 1,000 kilometres through two countries.

The route from Thailand to Malaysia traverses diverse scenery and terrain. Riders can expect to travel 100 kilometres per day while climbing nearly 1,000 meters, though some days will be more challenging than others. However, the trip is fully vehicle supported, for those in need of a bidon top-up or short respite in an empty seat.
Priced at US$ 4,000, the tour includes all accommodation for 12 days and 11 nights, experienced cycling guide and full support team in both countries, refreshments while riding, and most meals. Road bikes can be hired for the whole tour for an additional US$450, and riders can enjoy their own room for the whole tour for US$400.
