The new referral website www.roamresortsandhotels.com (Roam) has taken its first step into the massive Chinese market by securing a deal with Jianguo Hotel in Guangzhou to help the hotel drive more direct business to the hotel’s web site.
Roam director, Greg Parkes, said that as well as referral business, Roam also promotes the hotel on social media @roamresorts and runs parallel marketing campaigns with the hotel to broaden the marketing “net”.
Commenting on Roam’s new client, Mr Parkes added, ” I am delighted to be working with the Jianguo which has a strong international market mix and will benefit from the additional distribution Roam can provide”.
The Jianguo GM, Mr Charles Yeung said, “I was impressed with the concept of Roam and the fact that it provides a web-based partnership and not just a listing was important to me.”
Roam is currently negotiating with hotels in Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Australia.
Mr Parkes added, “Having only launched in early April we have a long way to go to reach our target of 100 hotels by the end of the year, but feed back from the market has been positive so I am confident of reaching that milestone”
