Sports Events 365, the international provider of tickets for sports and music events worldwide, is witnessing a sharp rise in customer demand for tickets to Italian Serie A football matches following Cristiano Ronaldo’s joining Juventus. Italy is already the company’s second largest market accounting for 17% of total sales. 

“Greater demand for Italian football matches in general and Juventus in particular will boost our business there by at least 25% in 2019,” predicts Sefi Donner, founder and CEO of Sports Events 365. Last year Sports Events 365 brought about 10,000 tourists to Italy, trailing only Spain in popularity.

Italian destination management companies (DMC) dealing in incoming tourist groups and individuals often face difficulties to market local sporting events since many are sold out months in advance and in other cases sales begin only days before a game. Donner notes that “the growing demand has led to increasing difficulties in obtaining tickets and that’s exactly where Sports Events 365 can offer its services.”

Sports Events 365 will be meeting next month with the leading travel and leisure companies in Italy dealing with outgoing and incoming tourism at the annual TTG Travel Experience, the largest marketplace for Italian tourism, as part of an effort to further expand its business. The gathering is being held in Rimini next week, on October 10-12, and it will be the first time the company will be participating at this event.

Sports Events 365 is already working with significant Italian travel companies, such as Aicstur Events, Travel Buy and Pantatours International.

The company is also planning to hold talks with Italian hotels and hotel chains to offer them tickets to sporting events as a means of assisting them to increase occupancy. They can offer tickets to sports events as part of a package in order to increase customer loyalty and minimize cancellations by potential guests.

Sports Events 365 is active in the outgoing tourist market in Italy where demand for tickets to sporting events is rising rapidly. Of particular interest to Italian tourists travelling abroad are football games in Spain and in the UK as well as European championship matches.

In addition, Sports Events 365 will launch during TTG its new service for hoteliers – the “Sports Events 365 Forecast”. “Forecast” is a pricing support intelligence service, which has been designed specifically for hotels. The service enables hotels to optimize the price they charge for rooms, based on information of upcoming sporting events. Using this service can prevent cases in which hotels find themselves with high occupancy and low room prices during sporting events, just because they did not know to adjust prices on time.
