Royal Caribbean International was awarded Best Cruise Operator – Australian Based Operation at the 2013 Australian Federation of Travel Agents’ National Travel Industry Awards over the weekend.

Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises were also nominated in the category of Best Cruise Operator – International Based Operation. Gavin Smith and Peter McCormack accept NTIA Award

The glittering night of nights, featuring a giant disco ball, was attended by over 1000 members of the travel trade industry at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. The night included a surprise performance from Australian pop sensation Jessica Mauboy.

Gavin Smith, Regional Vice-President Asia-Pacific, said: “I’m delighted that Royal Caribbean won Best Domestic Cruise Operator for the first time! To be recognised by our travel agent partners is a phenomenal achievement. This would not have been possible without the effort of our team who continue to work with passion and commitment. It was also a good year for Celebrity Cruises, receiving its first nomination in the Best International Cruise Line category. We congratulate all of the nominees from the night.”

The Royal Caribbean team look forward to the return of the Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises superliners to Australia & New Zealand for the summer season in October, 2013.
