From a scenic helicopter ride over the breathtakingly beautiful Great Barrier Reef to indulging in sumptuous spreads of the freshest local seafood, the six conference professionals from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane were introduced to some of the region’s most spectacular highlights.

The familiarisation tour was hosted by Rydges Director of Sales and Marketing in Cairns, Natalie Dean, alongside Rydges National Director of Conference and Events, Patrick Scheiber, who together showcased the area’s outstanding credentials as a world-class destination on behalf of parent group, AHL.

“We were very pleased to have the opportunity to share our passion and enthusiasm for the Far North Queensland region with invited professional conference organisers. It was a special weekend of fun and food that also served as an informative tour of some of AHL’s premier hospitality and leisure destinations, including Rydges Hotels and Resorts in Cairns and QT Port Douglas,” Ms Dean said.

Guests included Steve Jervis, of SJ Events; Robyn Zingler, of Venues Galore; Virginia McCarthy, of CVBS; Jim Conway, of Key Conference Solutions; Adam Morgan Monk, of Conference Deal / Shortlead.com; and Jane Kirkpatrick, of OzAccom.
