South Australian Tourism Industry Council Chief Executive Ward Tilbrook says the Australian Tourism Awards finalists represent the best of the best from around the country.

“The Qantas Australian Tourism Awards are a whole-of-business award which recognises tourism businesses that strive for excellence in every area of their operation, and sets a benchmark for best practice,” Mr Tilbrook says.

“This is a great result for the State and is excellent recognition of the hard work and innovation of the people at the front line of our tourism industry. We should all be very proud of their achievements.

“These wins not only raise South Australia’s profile in the Australian tourism industry but also places our magnificent regions on the tourism map.”

The awards were announced at a gala dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre, attended by more than 800 of Australia’s key tourism operators and industry leaders.

Qantas Australian Tourism Awards GOLD WINNERS from South Australia

Pindarie Cellar Door (Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries) The cellar door offers visitors the best of the Barossa in terms of tourism – premium wines for tasting and sale, regional food, heritage, family attraction and hospitality. The previously dilapidated 1850s stone building, which is now the cellar door, was meticulously restored
using recycled timbers and stone as well as slate quarried from the 750 acre farming property. Pindarie has recreated Barossa German heritage history and achieved a rustic but sophisticated, welcoming space.
