Sabre enhances booking experience for travellers in Australia and New Zealand through PayPal technology integration

Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) will integrate PayPal’s advanced payment solutions into Sabre Explore, a white label online booking platform used by small to mid-sized retail leisure agencies extending their presence online.

Through this integration, consumers will have an enhanced booking experience when purchasing air travel from a Sabre Explore-enabled travel agency website by allowing them to pay securely using their PayPal account. Aside from providing an alternative payment method, it also gives travellers increased security and fraud protection with PayPal’s Buyer Protection guarantee, 24/7 monitoring and enhanced data privacy technology.

“Over half of air bookings in Australia and New Zealand are now made online, and travellers’ expectations around payment security continue to rise. While they seek variety in payment methods, they are also demanding for extra security guarantees. It’s important that small-to mid-sized operators, like the agents who typically use Sabre Explore, are not left behind when it comes to offering the right payment technologies to match these heightened expectations,” commented Director for Sabre Southern Region, Richard Morgan.

“With the rate of change we’re seeing today, in both consumer demands and new technologies emerging, it’s important we’re just as focused on enhancing existing solutions – in this case Sabre Explore – as we are on introducing new ones to the region. An effective way to do that is by partnering with complementary technologies, like PayPal,” added Morgan.

Optimised earlier this year, Sabre Explore was designed to support leisure agents seeking to launch, extend or enhance their retail presence online.

The integration of PayPal to Sabre Explore will complement existing payment methods available which include credit card, cash, cheque, Bpay, Bank transfer and Alipay. A globally recognised payment method, PayPal is used and accepted by over 188 million users in more than 200 markets around the world.

The PayPal payment solution is available now to all agencies using Sabre Explore.
