The hotel stays of San Diego visitors just got easier, as the smartphone just got smarter. Beginning this month, Hilton HHonors members staying at Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa can consider their phone as not just their direction-finder or reservation-maker, but as the key – literally – to their hotel stay.
Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa has completed its Digital Key implementation for its 357 guest rooms, giving San Diego visitors unprecedented convenience and control – all via the Hilton HHonors app.
The process is easy. Within 24 hours of arrival, Hilton HHonors members who book direct through Hilton’s channels can digitally check-in, choose their exact room from a digital floorplan and request a Digital Key through the Hilton HHonors app. Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa will notify guests via the app as soon as their room is ready. Hilton HHonors members with previous stay history can then head straight to their room when they arrive, pressing the virtual “unlock” button on the app when they’re within five feet of their door.
Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa joins a growing list of Hilton Worldwide hotels who’ve made this high-tech transformation. By the end of 2016, Hilton intends to roll out Digital Key to all U.S. full-service hotels.
