Sandra Esparon, a much loved Seychelles female artist wins 2013 Festival Kreol song competition

Seychelles undisputed female artist Sandra Esparon is the winner of the 28th Edition of Festival Kreol song competition. Sandra, the Seychelles popular star of musical arena walked away with 40 thousand rupees cash prize and trophy of Tom Bowler.

SANDRA2Sandra’s creole song “ Nou Identite” (our Identity) was chosen among 34 participants ranging from amateurs, young budding artists and also the country’s known and popular professional artists who had submitted songs in this year’s Festival Kreol Song competition.

Sandra Esparon’s song outshined that of the other contestants. The announcement that Sandra Esparon had won the first prize in the 2013 Festival Kreol Song Competition was made by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture to the local Press. The Minister also announced that the two joint second position recipients were Allen Camille with his song “ Victoria Manman Kreol’’ and Norville Ernesta with his “ Moutya Festival”. The third position went to Aaron & Antoniette Dodin with their song “Mon anvi Selebre”.

This year Festival Kreol song competition is rewarding only first prize winner.

Minister Alain St.Ange thanked all the musicians who entered the song competition saying that the quality of songs were remarkable.

The song competition was launched in August 2013 and closed on 4th October. Seychelles has this year re-launched the Festival Kreol song Competition. The Festival hosted its last song competition in 2010 when Josee Charles came out as the winner.
