Santa Says Keep Your Drone Safe
Santa has delivered an important early Christmas message for drone flyers.
With drones a popular present this year safety in the skies is critical.
In a new video Santa shows just how easy it is to put safety at risk with a drone.
A young drone pilot who ignores the rules nearly causes a mid-air collision with Santa’s sleigh.
While Santa luckily flys on to complete his present-giving journey, the out-of-control drone crashes and is wrecked.
Santa’s message is clear: “Fly responsibly”.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s Peter Gibson says safe drone flying is easy – go to droneflyer.com.au and always follow the rules and use the Can I Fly There app before taking off.
“Santa has been lucky this time and narrowly avoided a mid-air collision,” says Peter Gibson.
“But breaking the drone rules with unsafe flying could mean Santa or an aircraft won’t be so lucky in the future.
“Everyone flying a drone has a responsibility to follow the rules at all times and never cause a safety risk to people, property or aircraft.”
