SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced the appointment of Andy Watson as Senior Vice President & General Manager for SAP Concur, Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) and Greater China. Watson succeeds Nick Evered, who has helmed the role since 2013 and will be retiring.

Building on a strong footprint in APJ and Greater China, Watson will be responsible for accelerating the growth of SAP Concur’s business in the region. SAP Concur serves 48,000 customers in over 150 countries including over 75% of Fortune 100 and 500 companies, and more than 58.1 million end users who book travel and process expenses with SAP Concur.

“Business travel is a growing budget component for many organizations and is set to expand exponentially in the coming years, with increasing globalization and expansion of businesses beyond their national borders,” said Scott Russell, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan. “Watson brings to SAP Concur a wealth of experience and success across finance, sales and operations. I am confident that under his leadership, SAP Concur will drive continued momentum for our business and enable our customers in the region to be at the forefront of a dynamic business travel landscape.”

Watson has 30 years of experience in the IT industry. An SAP veteran, he has held global and regional leadership roles across several board areas since joining SAP in 2003. Watson was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of SAP Cloud APJ, where he was instrumental in accelerating the adoption of SAP cloud strategy and increasing the cloud capability within SAP and the ecosystem. Prior to this role, Watson led the APJ business for SAP SuccessFactors, a global provider of cloud-based Human Capital Management software, driving sales, customer engagement and collaboration across the business.

With a strong finance background having held the role of Chief Financial Officer for SAP Field Services and SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud at SAP’s global headquarters in Walldorf, Germany, Watson brings to SAP Concur his extensive experience working with CFOs and finance leaders, and a deep understanding of the needs of the customers in the region.

“APJ and Greater China is an important region for SAP’s core business. With the rapid economic development and pivoting of global businesses, this region is poised to expand even further as the largest business travel spending region globally,” said Andy Watson, Senior Vice President & General Manager, SAP Concur Asia Pacific Japan and Greater China. “I am honored to lead SAP Concur’s business in APJ and Greater China and to help businesses simplify and manage the complexities of a growing travel cost component while ensuring compliance and duty of care for their employees.”

Prior to SAP, Andy held finance, operations, and business leadership roles at Compaq, Siebel and Fujitsu. During that time, his span of responsibility included managing post-merger activities, transforming the organizational structure, and executing corporate strategy.
