Save on Austria in winter

Back-Roads Touring is taking $204 per person off a winter tour through Austria featuring visits to historic Christmas markets, wine and beer tasting and traditional hearty local cuisine.

The 9-day Austria: A Winter Wonderland explores the Tyrol region, Cesky Krumlov and Vienna now from $3881* per person twin share when booked and paid in full by May 31.

Beginning in Munich, the tour includes the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, Innsbruck and its Christmas market, the Golden Roof and the Bergisel Ski Jump, ski resort Kitzbuhel and a cable car ride up Steinplatte for views of the snow-covered Tyrol region.

Other highlights include Salzburg and its Christmas market where you can sample hot punch and homemade pastries, a visit to a brewery for a hearty Austrian meal and beer, medieval Cesky Krumlov and the mountainous scenery of the Wachau Valley.

The tour finishes in Vienna where clients will enjoy wine tasting, an apple strudel demonstration at Schonbrunn Palace, a behind the scenes tour of the Chocolate Museum and a private guided tour of the Spanish Riding School.

The trip includes eight nights’ accommodation, driver/tour leader, mini coach transport, four evening meals, beer tasting, apple strudel show and entrances for itinerary sights.

Departures are available 30 November, and 7, 14 and 21 December.
