Scandic Hotels, the largest hotel operator in the Nordic region, has been shortlisted for a European Diversity Award in the category “Diversity Team of the Year.” The award ceremony will be held in London on September 30, 2015.
The European Diversity Awards are known as the “Oscars of diversity” and they recognize organizations and individuals that have shown innovation, creativity and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion during the year. Last year, Scandic was also nominated and placed second in the category, “Hero of the Year” for the efforts of Accessibility Director, Magnus Berglund.
Several different European organizations nominated Scandic for its trailblazing work in the area of accessibility, and Scandic is the only hotel chain to be shortlisted.
“I’m extremely happy and proud that we have been shortlisted for this prestigious award. Together with my colleagues, we constantly work hard to stay one step ahead when it comes to offering the best solutions for all of our guests, regardless of ability,” says Magnus Berglund, Accessibility Director at Scandic.
Scandic is also a finalist in the World Responsible Tourism Awards 2015 for its accessibility work, the winner of which will be announced on November 4, 2015.
