unnamed-10Scenic has launched its 2017/2018 India program which includes three new itineraries in northern India and a completely new destination, Sri Lanka.

The 14 Day Ultimate Sri Lanka caters for intimate groups of only 16 guests and includes the seaside towns of Negombo and Benato, Sigiriya ancient rock fortress, historic Kandy, the tea-growing region of Hatton and the colonial fort town of Galle. The new tour enjoys a cross section of cultural interaction, opportunities to view wildlife on safaris, visits to World Heritage-listed sites and colonial attractions. Staying in boutique hotels, rather than larger properties, guests get an authentic feeling for the location and culture. Plus the tour is combinable with tours to southern and northern India.

The 2017/2018 program also sees the launch of three new itineraries to the north which means a greater variety of destinations on offer. Guests can choose from the 10 Day Golden India, which features the ‘Classic Golden Triangle’ of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur and has been designed to be used in conjunction with all the southern tours; or the 16 Day Jewels of India, which has been designed as a longer overview of North India covering off the famous sites to the east and west of Delhi and is the only tour to visit Varanasi, Khajuraho and Pushkar.

For anyone wanting a longer tour there is the 21 Day Royal Heritage of India – focusing on the royal heritage of India, this tour focuses on Rajasthan as its main destination and stays in hand-picked former and current palaces, former forts and hunting lodges, luxury tented camps and iconic hotels including two new destinations and hotels – the Suryagarh Jaisalmer in Jaisalmer and the Samsara Luxury Tented Camp in Dechu. It is also the only tour to stay at Ranthambore National Park.

Adam Burke, Journey Designer Asia, commented: “We are excited to add Sri Lanka to our portfolio of destinations. Guests have been wanting to travel there with us for a long time and we are pleased to be able to offer a diverse itinerary away from the tourist trail for just 16 guests. By introducing this new destination we are able to showcase an even greater range of Asia’s wildlife and culture, it is the perfect addition to our product range.”
