The five storey office on 25 Watt Street houses the 206 staff that work across all facets of the business from reservations, Journey Design and operations to finance, IT and HR.

The bespoke office has been designed by architects EJE Architecture to meet the needs of the different departments and includes a ground floor that is exclusively for guests who can now be welcomed in luxury with a dedicated guest reception area, two consultation rooms and one large guest meeting room. Plus at the rear of the ground floor is the pack send area where deliveries and collection can now be made easily via the direct lane access.

The building has been designed to be a collaborative workspace where nobody is tied to their desk, office or level. The building features a dedicated agile meeting zone, two dedicated video conference rooms that will be connected to all Scenic’s global offices, eliminating the need for Skype and GoTo entirely.

Glen Moroney, Scenic Chairman, commented: “We have seen huge growth since we moved into our second Newcastle premises in Brown Street, and after many years we had outgrown the space and needed a more efficient setup for our growing operations. We have handcrafted this building so it is built to last and cope with future expansion.”

This move heralds the start of an exciting new era for Scenic as the leading travel company celebrates its 30th anniversary this year which is further cemented by the appointment of a new Executive General Manager. David Cottee has recently joined the business and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Australian business to drive performance and standards and to ensure exceptional levels of quality and efficiency from customer service through to operations and product delivery.
