Scenic Tours Go Into the Wild

Scenic Tours has launched their 2015 Africa program with an unrivalled collection of itineraries that travel to the contrasting countries of South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana and Tanzania and new for 2015, all internal flights are now included in the price of the tour.

Travel in all-inclusive luxury on a fully escorted tour to the world’s second-largest continent and experience Africa’s icons – the majestic Victoria Falls; spot the ‘Big 5’ in Kruger National Park; sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro; travel the famous Garden Route and take in the views from atop Namibia’s famous sand dunes. To coincide with the launch of the brochure, the Nine Network will be screening three full half hour episodes of Getaway covering Catriona Rowntree’s journey to Africa with Scenic Tours on Saturday 9, 16 and 23 August.

Join Catriona as she experiences Africa with Scenic Tours. Starting in a private concession of Kruger National Park in South Africa with a game viewing along the banks of the Sabie River, Catriona finds the ‘Big 5’ and has a close encounter with an elephant before exploring the revitalised city of Johannesburg.

The following week she travels to Zambia to the spectacular Victoria Falls; takes a steam train journey on the the Royal Livingstone Express through the picturesque Zambezi valley in Pullman style coaches which have been lovingly restored to their former glory and now offer a fine dining experience; visits a local village to gain an appreciation of traditional tribal life and enjoys an African sunset from a cruise along the Zambezi River.

In the final episode the Getaway team head to Botswana to Chobe National Park where the Chobe River provides the ultimate wildlife experience and the chance to explore the park by boat. They then travel to Cape Town for diamond shopping and a visit to the penguins of Boulders Beach before taking the Garden Route to the winelands of Knysna and the magnificent Anura Wine Estate and a trip to Monkeyland.
