Scenic Tours Launch 2015 China and Japan Program

Scenic Tours, a leading operator of all-inclusive and fully escorted luxury tours, has launched its 2015 China and Japan program which sees the introduction of new destinations in China and a number of fantastic new cultural and dining experiences n China and Japan.

Experience even more of China with the addition of Lhasa, Shangri La and Wuhan to the China Jewels and Luxury Yangtze Cruise tour which for 2015 has been expanded to 22 days. Visit the culturally significant city of Lhasa in Tibet, one of the highest cities in the world. See the spectacular Potala Palace, once home of the Dalai Lama, and discover the 1,300 year old Jokhang Temple. Spend a day in Wuhan in Central China, one of China’s most famous historical and cultural cities, and explore a history that dates back more than 3,500 years including the spectacular Yellow Crane Tower. Also new for 2015 are a number of cultural experiences designed to immerse guests in the historic and cultural traditions of China and Japan. In China guests will now have the opportunity to discover the centre of Beijing’s tea trade on Milando Tea Street; relax with a foot massage; explore Shanghai’s many attractions on board the hop on hop off bus and spend time with a local family in Tibet, tasting their special yak butter tea. Whilst in Japan’s cultural heartland of Kyoto learn the traditional Japanese arts of calligraphy, origami and the methods of a tea ceremony; take a guided walk along a stone path beside a canal lined with temples and shrines made famous by one of Japan’s ancient philosophers or visit a local Kyoto house to learn how to make some of Japan’s well-known dishes.

New dining experiences for 2015 focus on the array of delicious foods from across Asia including Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, traditional Tibetan food and a menu inspired by the legendary Ancient Tea Horse Trail that winds throughout Yunnan, Burma and Tibet. Scenic Sundowners – a new and exclusive cocktail reception hosted at some of the most majestic locations, allow guests to enjoy a drink overlooking the spectacular architecture and skyscrapers in Shangahi and at a wonderful roof top bar perched opposite the east gate of the massive Forbidden City.

With Scenic Tours guests cuddle a Giant Panda cub in Chengdu’s Breeding Centre, witness Terracotta Warriors in Xian from a VIP platform with a private talk from a museum curator and experience a traditional Tea ceremony in Beijing and enjoy Tai Chi with a Master at the Temple of Heaven.
