A taste of Canada and the USA Rocky Mountains, National Parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites can now be purchased as one combination holiday, with Scenic Tours launching a 26 day “Best of North America’s National Parks” itinerary for 2015 travel.

For the first time in the escorted touring world, the province of Alberta home to Canada’s Rocky Mountains will be combined with US National Parks in the states of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and Arizona.

Waterton Lakes Alberta CanadaStaying at the famed Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and Rocky Mountain Wilderness resorts, the tour sets off in Alberta’s capital city of Edmonton, before catching the VIA Rail train into the quaint Canadian Rocky Mountain township of Jasper.

“During their stay in Jasper, guests will have a choice of bucket-list experiences, such as a Maligne Lake Cruise around Spirit Island or rafting down the Athabasca River,” says Lizzie Doyle, Market Development Director, Travel Alberta Australia.

Travelling on from Jasper the tour passes through one of the most scenic drives in the world – the Icefields Parkway – stopping en-route at the mighty Athabasca Glacier.

“There is so much to see and do in Banff National Park,” says Lizzie. “From scenic helicopter flights to float trips on the Bow River, guests can immerse themselves in the natural wilderness of this incredible Canadian destination.”

Heading into Southern Alberta via Calgary, World Heritage Sites become the focal point, with stops at Dinosaur Provincial Park and Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, complemented by a North West Mounted Police Musical Ride at Fort McLeod.

The two-nation vacation begins on the border of Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta and Glacier National Park in Montana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only International Peace Park in the Northern Hemisphere.

Travel to Red Rock Canyon in Waterton and cruise on Waterton Lake into Montana, before continuing a luxury coach journey along the spectacular “Going-to-the Sun Road” in Glacier National Park to then enter Yellowstone National Park.

From Yellowstone the tour continues south through Wyoming to Grand Teton National Park with more included tour options, such as a float trip on Snake River or a wildlife safari to search for bison, moose or elk.

Venturing out of the wilderness and into areas renowned for famous rock formations the tour continues through Utah’s Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, and Monument Valley.

The trip of a lifetime comes to an end at one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World the Grand Canyon, before crossing the desert into the oasis of Las Vegas, Nevada.
