Scoot understands it is all about mates in Australia. So when they ran a competition last month calling for entries via Facebook, they asked us to “Nominate a Mate” who was a real champion in their eyes, and who really needed a holiday, for whatever reason, a whopping 2,338 entries flooded in.
The prize was a trip for two (hopefully the nominee) with Scoot and Tigerair flights from Australia, to stay for 7 nights at the luxurious Four Seasons Maldives with all meals included at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, and daily speedboat transfers to surf some amazing waves and the chance to hang out with the crew and to watch the Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy 2015.
KEN NGUYEN from Padstow in Sydney was nominated by Maria Shao entering him into the competition with this submission:
”My mate Ken just passed the 5 year remission mark for cancer. He had stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This getaway would mean the world to him after so many emotional and physical battles, he truly deserves to enjoy the beautiful Maldives and Singapore.”
Also nominated by Ashleigh Traill, was WAYNE TRAILL of Kallaroo WA who said:
“Wayne has been through such a lot the past 2 years with the loss of his father, and having to deal with some physical problems himself. With treatment, he is finally back surfing and this trip would be absolutely amazing for him and a true blessing.”
The promotion was supported by Tropic Surf, Four Seasons Resort, and was promoted online by Coastalwatch, Swellnet and in Surfing Life Magazine.
In Terms of engagement the total reach for Scoot was 134,000 through existing Scoot fans and their connections, with Maldives, Westin Singapore, surfing interest sites and other partners adding another 18,600 accounts.
An amusing entry of note is below:
Maldives is fast becoming a popular destination for Australians, some chasing the world famous surf breaks, others the luxury Resorts and breathtaking scenery of the atolls and the various marine activities.
