Joe Slattery with Seabourn Academy graduate Rachelle Matheson and Tony ArchboldLaunched in April, the online training course has proved instantly popular with Australian agents wanting to learn more about selling luxury travel. Well over 150 consultants have enrolled in the Academy, with many already completing the course.

During his recent visit to Australia, Seabourn Vice President of International Sales and Marketing Joe Slattery, along with Seabourn Director of Sales in Australia Tony Archbold, dropped by Rachelle’s Prahran office to present her with a certificate to mark the milestone.

Rachelle said she was impressed with how detailed the course was and thought it would be beneficial for her staff to learn more about ultra-luxury cruising.

“We have a lot of repeat clientele that cruise on Seabourn and as I haven’t cruised myself, it was a great opportunity to learn more about the cruise line,” she said.

“After finishing the course I feel more comfortable selling the product knowing what they offer, the service level and all the value added benefits.”

Also operating in the US and UK, Seabourn Academy offers the industry one of the most extensive courses specialising in the selling of luxury products. Its free, six-module training program is packed with tips from the most successful sellers of luxury travel in the world to help agents attract affluent consumers.

“In line with the continued growth in demand for luxury products, consultants are showing a strong desire to learn as much as they can about Seabourn,” MrArchbold said.

“Participating agents have all benefited from their increased knowledge, the resulting ability to sell luxury and to earn the higher commissions available in this market segment.”

Australian agents who undertake Academy training qualify for five CLIA Australasia accreditation points, while the first 50 Australian travel agents to finish the program will also receive a $100 bonus commission on their first Seabourn booking made within 60 days of course completion.
