Seabreeze Resort Samoa Wins Again In New Zealand Restaurant Challenge

Proving it’s the best place to relax, dine and holiday in Samoa, the luxury Seabreeze Resort has won ‘Best Atmosphere and service’ at the New Zealand Restaurant Challenge as part of Friendship Week, which celebrates the Treaty of Friendship between New Zealand and Samoa.

This year 10 restaurants competed in the New Zealand Restaurant Challenge that ran from Friday 3rd July to Saturday 11th July 2015. Restaurants were judged over five categories with winners being awarded in each. Categories included; Overall Winner, Best ‘Modern Samoan Style’, Best Innovation and Skill, Best Atmosphere & Service and Diners Choice – “Individual Star Performer”.

For years we have been winning food awards but this year we showcased the full dinning package, providing the judges with an atmosphere and service that Seabreeze has become renowned for.” Explains Wendy Booth, Owner, Seabreeze Resort.

“We believe it is so important for the guest to have a unique dining experience combined with amazing food. The atmosphere really sets the tone of your holiday and we work hard at Seabreeze to ensure our atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and intimate and one you never want to leave.” Continues Mrs Booth.

The 10 participating restaurants included Coconuts Beach Club & Resort, Insel Fehmarn, Orator Hotel, Palusami Restaurant & Bar, Rokos Restaurant, Rendezvous, Saletoga Sands, Scalini’s, Seabreeze Resort and Tanoa Tusitala Hotel.

Diners and a panel of independent judges including; Daniella  Ah  Leong-Leota  (APTC Cookery Trainer); Andrew Coulquhon (APTC Hospitality Trainer; Lisa Taomua (Samoan-born Auckland based media producer); Sir Graham Henry and his wife Raewyn sampled the New Zealand Restaurant Challenge dish and experienced the restaurants. Judging was then decided based on the five categories.

Seabreeze’s winning restaurant, Waterfront Bar and Restaurant, is situated right on the water with unsurpassed lagoon and reef views. Guests can relax and simply listen to the sounds of the ocean or watch the surf breaking on the reef as they dine on ‘a la carte’ cuisine prepared by an award winning team. Offering locally caught seafood dishes to western specialities this amazing architecturally designed 60-seat waterfront bar & restaurant has a separate private dining pavilion and is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
