Searching For That Dream Over Water Resort

October 5, 2015 Global Travel Media TV, Headline News No Comments Email Email

Virtually every traveller, no matter where they are in the world has to have a dream of lazing in an idyllic tropical island resort, one with coconut palms swaying in a warm breeze and an azure blue ocean shimmering into the distance … and an icy cocktail waiting to be sipped!  Sadly, many would just have to wake up and get on with life, but not those lucky enough to visit Likuliku Lagoon Resort, Fiji’s award winning, over water tranquil, luxury paradise, as I was lucky enough to be able to experience recently.image002

Likuliku Lagoon Resort in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands is without doubt a dream fulfilled, an untouched paradise with at its heart a turquoise lagoon, a place of unimaginable beauty and tranquillity, with the first visitors exploring and honouring the magic of the place, by naming it “Likuliku”, meaning “calm waters”.

Just a short hop from Nadi International Airport by South Sea Cruises ferry, helicopter, seaplane or a Sea Fiji water taxi, Likuliku Lagoon Resort is a genuine, superb haven of subtle luxury and it is not only the first and only resort in Fiji with over water bures, but it is also 100% Fijian family owned, bringing to the resort a unique and special feel, with the resort also designed with integrity to Fijian cultural values, traditional designs and architecture and embraced by the renowned warmth of the Fijian people and the Likuliku family

image003From the water Likuliku looks like an ancient village, built in traditional style, with the beating heart of the Resort a magnificent building in the design of a Fijian canoe house and surrounded by sprawling ceilings, hand-woven thatch and an exotic mix of natural materials and modern elements, embodying the richness of an ancient culture with vibrant present-day lifestyle touches.

A luxury escape for couples, Likuliku is unquestionably a magical
sanctuary, with the ten private, exclusive and stunningly beautiful over water bures, as across the entire Resort, featuring image009traditional architecture and materials, using natural elements unique to the region, with elegance and style, with guest in the over water bures able to laze on their private deck, luxuriate in their separate bathing pavilion or enjoy lagoon views from their bathtub, with all bures  featuring air-conditioning, music systems, phones, free WiFi, flat-screen monitors and DVD player, a daily Chef’s Canape Plate and a blissful King bed.

image010The eighteen Deluxe Beachfront Bures also feature traditional designs and natural materials that reflect the beauty and history of the South Pacific, including a personal plunge pool, with the Garden Beachfront and Beachfront Bures offer a secluded haven of relaxation and privacy and all bures equally well equipped.

The culinary experience at Likuliku, delivered by Executive Shane Watson and his team features international standard gourmet food integrated with the exquisite flavours of the Pacific Rim with the “Fijiana” Restaurant the Resort centrepiece, with views over the Lagoon, gardens and pool, with the cuisine clean, fresh and creative, showcasing the finest local produce, with an emphasis on local seafood, lush tropical fruits and premium products, with the dining concept changing daily in a mini-degustation style for lunch and dinner, combined with a variety of themed evenings showcasing local and cultural elements.  image011

“Tatadra” which means “House of Dreams”, is the name for Likuliku’s spa, luxurious and tranquil, nestled against the green slopes of the island with beautiful Lagoon views and soothing breezes, where guests drift into relaxation with a Fijian-style massage or select a natural beauty and body treatment to soothe the soul from the range of “Pure Fiji” products.

At Likuliku they invite you to name your adventure……… or not, with a myriad of land and sea pursuits available, with snorkelling only steps from your Bure or a range of nearby secluded snorkelling sites of unimaginable beauty or perhaps, windsurfing, fishing or a jet ski tour.    Perhaps though simply lazing by the spectacular horizon-edge pool or soaking in one of the many mini-jacuzzi areas in the pool is for others and most definitely for me!

Without question, my search for my idyllic tropical island paradise resort was over at Likuliku Lagoon Resort Fiji, but you can also go some way to fulfil your dream search, by joining me on my visit to Likuliku Lagoon Resort by checking out the video below.
