The Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust, who work in North Malawi and focus on environment and wildlife conservation have released their Autumn 2019 newsletter.

The NVT annual fundraising evening will take place on Wednesday 6th November at Union Jack Club near Waterloo, London. This year’s event will be welcome guest speaker Johnny Vaughan, a director of Lilongwe Wildlife Trust (LWT). LWT have managed the NVT conservation programme on the ground in Malawi for the past three years. He will start by talking about the conservation work right across Malawi, before focusing on the Northern project including stories about their education programme in schools in the Nyika and Vwaza areas. Of particular interest will be his views on the role of learning outside the classroom and the value of education in policing wildlife crime.

In other news, the Lilongwe Wildlife Trust has completed Stage 1 of their conservation education programme in which NVT has provided around £125,000 of funding. Central African Wilderness Safaris report on recent lion sightings in Nyika National Park, and NVT launch a new easy to navigate website.
