British Airways has reportedly suspended a long-serving B777 pilot after photos emerged of him apparently performing a sex act in the cockpit dressed only in women’s stockings.
Britain’s Sun newspaper printed photos alleged to show the 51-year-old pilot engaged in a solo sex act while clad in stockings on the flight deck at 38,000 feet during a long-haul flight.
One image shows a stocking-clad leg sprawled over the dashboard while the plane appears to be on autopilot. The co-pilot’s seat is empty.
Serial numbers on the control panel suggested the photos were taken aboard at least two separate British Airways planes, the paper said.
Experts doubt that a pilot could concentrate fully on his duties while engaged in the activity depicted. Sudden turbulence can occur at any time.
British Airways has confirmed it is investigating.
“We are taking these allegations extremely seriously,” a spokesman told the Sun.
The pilot reportedly denies that he is the man shown in the images.
The unsavoury allegations came to light just a week after another incident involving British Airways, in which a first class passenger was arrested at the end of a long-haul flight. The passenger, a Scottish businessman and managing director, was accused of using the torch app and camera on his mobile phone to film up the skirt of a female flight attendant as she bent over to serve a passenger opposite him.
