Seoul Adds 36 New Member Organizations to its MICE Alliance, Strengthening Support For MICE Events
The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) have announced this year’s roster of organizations accepted to its Seoul MICE Alliance (SMA). Launched in 2011, the SMA has steadily grown in membership with a total of 195 member companies in 10 sectors as of last year. With 36 additional new member companies accepted this year, Seoul now has a total of 230 MICE members.
Specifically, the 36 new member companies are as follows:
The SMA, a partnership between government agencies and private-sector organizations, contributes to the growth of Seoul MICE by strengthening a cooperative relationship among Seoul’s MICE industries and enhancing the competitiveness of attracting MICE events. SMA member organizations promote and participate in joint cooperative projects with the Seoul Government such as overseas MICE exhibitions, support for site investigation and media familiarization tours. The alliance’s strong partnership and activities are accredited with Seoul’s rise and development as a global MICE city.
A STO official commented on the expanded alliance saying, “SMA is a driving force behind the growth of Seoul’s MICE industry. We will do our best to attract various MICE events together with the new member organizations.”
