“Service is our tradition” is the name of the exhibition that can be seen in Terminal 2 at Munich Airport until the end of August. As many as 60 photographs on six exhibition walls show the development of Lufthansa between 1955 and today. Historical images from the cabin, cockpit, station and aircraft handling are on display.

These have been placed opposite currents shots of the same situation and taken in the same format today. The exhibition also provides information about fleet and passenger development as well as the number of employees at Lufthansa. ‘“Service is our tradition” shows the development of Lufthansa over the years in a very personal way. And the pictures show that one thing has not changed: our service to customers. Values such as warmth, competence and professionalism have stayed the same over the years,’ says Thomas Klühr, Member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board, Finances & Hub Munich.

Rare images of the past 60 years are on display, such as the supervision of babies and small children on board in 1958 compared with today, as well as cockpit preparations in the 1960s and 1980s. You can also see the loading of a Boeing 707 in 1962, check-in scenes from three decades and the lounge facilities in the 1970s. And it is particularly worth seeing the styles and designs of the Lufthansa uniforms over the various decades.
