Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture encourages people to be more independent

Seychelles-Travel“The Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture believes in encouraging people to become more independent’’.

This statement was spelled out by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture to Danilo Albert and his family at their home at Les Canelles.

Minister St.Ange was invited by Derreck Samson, the elected Member of the National Assembly of Anse Royale, to visit Danilo Albert, a prominent artist suffering from a rare disease causing him to be now confined to a wheel chair.

Danilo Albert, whose drawings are a combination of pastel on canvas, ink and pencil is seeking assistance from his district to have a small gallery built at his house. His request was then presented Hon Derreck Samson to Minister St.Ange, who found it important to personally visit Danilo Albert at his residence at Les Canelles. In the presence of Benjamine Rose, the Principal Secretary for Culture and Hon Derreck Samson, the elected Member of the National Assembly for the Anse Royale Constituency. Minister St.Ange congratulated Danilo Albert for taking up the initiative to become more independent and in so doing financially more independent and also more able to support his family.

“It is touching to see that despite your disease, you’ve taken it upon yourself to seek help to be able to contribute not only for the well-being of your family, but also to play a part to contribute to the economy of the country’’ Minister St.Ange said to Mt Danilo Albert in the presence of his family.

Danilo Albert showed Minister St Ange photos taken of his past drawing exhibition, and a painting he made for Festival Kreol 2013. Minister St.Ange said his ministry will provide Danilo with sufficient materials for him to continue to paint. Minister Alain St.Ange encouraged Danilo to continue with his artistic work and went on to congratulate Hon Derreck Samson, the National Assembly member for Anse Royale to bring the request made by Danilo Albert forward.
