Students of the Seychelles Tourism Academy have been given an overview of their roles in the new tourism service awareness campaign which is set to be launch later this year.
The campaign dubbed as …Mon Sesel Sa is an initiative of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chaired by Marco Francis, the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on the country’s tourism academy to come on board for this project.
The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry has set up a tourism sub-committee headed by John Stravens to spearhead this project.
Students of the academy met the team from the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry this week whereby they were able to share ideas on how the campaign could be run and what their input can be in this project.
Speaking at the event, Mr Francis said the private sector has a key role to play in our tourism industry.
He added that the tourism sub-committee that has been set up will relook at the service industry and through this community-based project, help people to take ownership of the tourism industry which is known to be the pillar of our economy.
Addressing the students, Mr Stravens said the tourism industry needs dedicated people to make it work.
He added that the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry feels that it has a responsibility to give particular attention to the tourism industry.
Mr Stravens said it is ideal to start off with the tourism academy students as the future of this vital industry lies in their hands.
…Mon Sesel Sa is similar to the U First campaign which existed some years back but was later discontinued.
This new campaign aims to present and promote Seychelles through its uniqueness, diversity and dynamism of its people. One of its main objectives is promote Seychelles as a destination through quality service leaving a lasting impression on visitors.
