Seychelles is positioning itself as the new destination for Indian holiday makers and choice honeymoon destination for newly weds.  This targeted drive by the Seychelles Tourism Board coincides with the State visit by the island’s President James Michel.  Air Seychelles, the national carrier of the Seychelles is currently flying direct non-stop to Mumbai 4 times weekly and should help in attracting the fast growing and dynamic Indian market to Seychelles.  Alain St.Ange, the seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture is personally heading the Tourism Delegation to Mumbai.

Support from Indian Tour Operators and Travel Trade has been forthcoming but the airfare to Seychelles from India was seen as an obstacle as it was always more expensive that flying to Mauritius.  “Air Seychelles has re-looked at its pricing structure and will be making announcements of their new packages and offers to Seychelles on their non-stop direct flights during the Press Conference in Mumbai” said Minister Alain St.Ange as he left Seychelles for India.
