Seychelles-TravelThe INDIAN OCEAN NEWSLETTER of Francis Soler in Paris dated the 17th October reports as follows “Seychelles is trying to organise fast flights to Paris so as to satisfy the demands of French tour operators.

The Seychelles tourism minister Alain St Ange, is expected in Paris on 17 October, accompanied by Manoj Papa, the CEO ofAir Seychelles and Captain David Savy, chairman of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority(SCAA), to meet French tour operators. This trip follows one to the Seychelles in mid-September by three representatives of travel agencies (ION 1387) who regretted the lack of a direct air link between the islands and France. Indeed, the new Air Seychelles flight between the two countries should include a stop-over in Abu Dhabi, with disembarkation of passengers from the plane, considerably lengthening journey time.

With this in mind, the Seychelles authorities negotiated hard with the United Arab Emirates who insist that passengers should get off the plane at all stops. They finally obtained an agreement that as from this week the technical halt in Abu Dhabi will last only one hour and passengers will not have to disembark. This is what St Ange and his delegation should announce to the French tour operators on October 17″.
