After the visit of the Logos Hope Ship in the Seychelles from 21st-25th November 2015, a group of Seychellois who were volunteering onboard, decided to commit their time in bringing knowledge, help and hope to different nations.

The group comprises of Mr. Achille Confiance, Mrs. Annielle Confiance, Mr. Freddy Bijoux, Mrs. Heira Bijoux & child Joshua Bijoux. They have been invited to spend 6 months with Operation Mobilization (OM) in South Africa as volunteers where they will undergo a preparation program for practical community work.

The journey of becoming a missionary with OM, is to do training which will be involved in activities such as painting public schools, health education amongst children, community development programs and practical maintenance services.

Their full acceptance into OM will be based upon successful completion of their training and the assessment of the Training Team.  If the assessment is favorable, they will then pursue their chosen field of service.  (OM Ships)

OM asks for a 2 year commitment after the training. In order to carry out such a long term commitment, they will need a strong support network from locals-relatives, friends and Churches.

This personal development program will start on the 6th September 2016 until the 19th January 2017. During this time they will be required to go to Lesotho for twelve days. They will travel to different villages to take part in a variety of activities such as: meet the locals, do home visits, carry out children ministries, and take part in youth, sports and also spiritual programs.

The team will be based in one of the following villages and will be hosted by locals in these villages: Hameletsani, Malisiwana, Motohani, Khanayne, Hatseesa.

As the group prepared for their departure they called on Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture accompanied by Senior Pastor Hermitte Freminot of the Pentecostal Assembly of Seychelles. “As the Ministry responsible for Culture we can but congratulate you all for this commitment to work for bringing knowledge, help and hope to different nations. You will be flying the Seychelles flag as you represent your country on these missions. We are proud of you” Minister St.Ange said to the delegation who also came to collect tourism promotional material from the Tourism Board Offices.

The group is very excited for this gigantic opportunity and can’t wait to start the training. “I can relate to pain, loss, frustration, shame and discouragement. My desire and my passion is to impact lives by bringing hope, comfort and love to those without hope, without love and without comfort. We have decided to engaged in mission work to share our love experience to others around the world, we don’t have all the answers nor the tools or resources that we need. But we want to follow our heart and answer the call to serve others in need” said Achille.

As a Non Profitable Organisation OM works in over 110 countries, motivating and equipping people to better impact the lives of the less fortunate with their effective cultural exchange programs. It is with great pleasure that the Pentecostal Assembly of Seychelles is sending out these young Seychellois into this internationally known program as the first team from the Church and the Seychelles.
