The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club will continue to call Primus Hotel Sydney home while travelling in Australia ahead of tonight’s final game against Sydney F.C. As the official hotel partner for one of the most valuable and profitable football teams in China, Primus Hotel Sydney shares a unique connection with the football club: Greenland Group.

Greenland Group purchased Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club January 2014, strengthening its commitment to sport in China and their contribution to the sports industry as a whole. As owners of Primus Hotel Sydney, the Group combines two of its most successful and world-renowned companies for an authentic and on-going partnership.

Daniel Muhor, General Manager, Primus Hotel Sydney, said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club to Primus this week. We take great pride in offering exceptional dining and superior accommodation – but more than that, it is an honour to be able to offer a home away from home. True hospitality is the heart of what we do and we are delighted to offer the very best in dining, entertainment and access to our vibrant city.”

The established football team is led by Head Coach, Wu Jingui, and captained by Columbian born, Giovanni Moreno. Australian Socceroo’s great, Tim Cahill also previously played in the Shenhua team.

The team is travelling to Sydney shortly after their draw on 3rd April against Japan’s Kashima Antlers in the AFC Champions League and most recently their draw against Guangzhou Evergrande F.C. last Friday.

In addition to Moreno, Xu Yougang, Liu Ruofan, Cong Zhen, Li Xiaoming, Lu Pin, Chen Hao, Li Jianbin (after recovering from injury) Mao Jianqing, Zhu Jianrong, Wang Wei, Zhang Hao, Wang Hao, Sun Shilin, Qiu Shengji, Wang Lin, Tao Jin and Sun Kai have travelled to Sydney for the match.

Alongside Greenland Group’s contribution to the sports is its commitment to social responsibility. To date, Greenland Group has donated US$32million to set up the ‘Greenland Charity Fund’ and has launched a public welfare initiative called the ‘Greenland Project.’ The initiatives have so far donated an accumulative total of $US160 million to charity and public services.

The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club will play Sydney F.C. in the AFC Champions League at Sydney Football Club at 8:00pm tonight.
