Shangri-La Hotel, Nanjing Participates in Trek Activity to Help Protect Nanjing City Wall

sixty colleagues from Shangri-La Hotel, Nanjing participated in a 5.5-kilometre trek activity to show its support for the city’s campaign to protect the city wall built during the Ming dynasty.

Trek Activity

The trek started at Dongshui Gate, passed by Wuding, Yuhua, Zhonghua and Changgan Gates, and ended at Xishui Gate. For every kilometer a colleague completed, the participants donated RMB10 to the city wall management committee.

Trekking is a very popular activity now. It is good for the body and can make the heart stronger by reducing fat mass in the artery. This multi-level healthy activity is suitable for people of different ages.

“The history of the city wall in Nanjing has over 600 years order, and it had been connected in this August. When I walk through the city wall, I overlook the different landscape in this city and the beautiful skyline.” said Mr. Frank Wen, the hotel’s general manager. “This is great opportunity for our hotel colleagues participating this activity to contribute our efforts on protect the city wall.”

A total of 1,000 persons participated in this activity organized by Nanjing Morning Post that will now become a city event in the future.
