Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang will hold “A Taste of Singapore” Food Festival at Café Liao, inviting Chia Jue Xian and Keh Jian Lin from Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore as guest chefs to present an authentic Singaporean cuisine from 14 to 25 November 2015.
Dining, along with shopping, is said to be the country’s national pastime. The focus on food has attracted Singapore tourists with food-based itineraries. The food diversity is touted as a reason for visiting the country and its variety, representing different ethnicities, is seen as a symbol of its multiculturalism. In popular culture, food items belong to a particular ethnicity, with Chinese, Malay and Indian food clearly defined.
With the support of IE Singapore, Tai Hua, Ace Synergy, Chye Choon, Bee Cheng Hiang, Tat Hui and Ha Li Fa, Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang sourced all the main ingredients from Singapore, including condiments and spices, to ensure an authentic taste. Signature dishes include Singapore Laksa, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Bak Kut Teh, Satay and other traditional delicacies.
During the food festival, Café Liao will present lucky draws daily; all guests stand a chance to win souvenirs from Singapore while indulging in its authentic delicacies. The grand prize is a trip to Singapore with round-trip tickets from Shenyang, provided by China Southern Airline, and a complimentary two-night stay at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore; Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, Singapore; and Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore (a total of six nights’ stay).
