Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang Presents Mid-Autumn Mooncakes

Shenyang, 19 August 2015 – To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang presents a series of mooncakes and hampers until 27 September 2015. 


This year, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, together with The Walt Disney Company, launches the ‘Shangri-La & Disney’ Mooncake.  From the packaging design to the mooncake itself, every detail incorporates lovely elements of Disney and its cartoon images, which are quite popular among children.

The Shangri-La Mooncake features healthy and sugar-free mooncakes, especially the Momoyama Skin Mooncake.  Momoyama skin originated in Momoyama, Japan.  It is made of white kidney bean paste, egg yolk, milk and cream.  Traditionally, Shangri-La’s mooncake is made with wheatmeal, but has been changed since momoyama skin was used, giving the mooncake a smoother taste.

Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang also provides a variety of hampers and gift boxes to meetthe guests’ different requirements, including seafood hampers, Roasted Suckling Pig, Roasted Goose and other special hampers.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the Chinese people’s most important festivals. Every year during the festival, people go home from every corner of the country and the world to meet their families and have dinner together, admire the full moon and eat mooncakes.  Nowadays, mooncakes represent “reunion” and “celebration”, which is also the best choice to deliver wishes to families, friends and business associates.

The mooncakes are available from 27 July to 27 September 2015 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.
