Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou Presents the Chinese New Year Hampers for 2016

Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou has created seven unique Chinese New Year hampers to celebrate the Spring Festival in 2016. hampers are presented in traditional Chinese style and filled with selected authentic and imported products, making it a wonderful gift for this precious holiday.

The 2016’s Chinese New Year hampers will be available from 26 December 2015 to 22 February 2016.  Guests can purchase these gift hampers at the Gu Feng Ting House located in the lobby.  The direct line for reservations is (86 512) 6808 0168 extension 6488.

The unique hampers are classified as:

“Tang Yuan” Box priced at RMB 68
This hamper contains 18 rice dumplings, half are filled with meat and the rest with black sesame paste.  The gift box is divided into two layers and covered with red paper with the Chinese character “Tuan yuan” symbolizing “reunion” written in Mandarin.

“SU” Pastry Flavours priced at RMB 78
This hamper contains a selection of authentic pastries, including: traditional Chinese cookies, peanut nougat, walnut cake, Jujube paste cake, sweet heart pastry, pumpkin seed crispy cake, sun cake and flaky muffin.  The classic Su-style pastry with a full sweet taste will give guests an amazing experience and add to their happiness.

“Nian Nian You Yu” Hamper priced at RMB 288
This hamper is named after the traditional rice cake that is formed as a fish.  The word “fish” has the same pronunciation as “surplus” in Chinese, and symbolises wishes of prosperity in the New Year.  In addition, loquat honey, rice dumplings, traditional Chinese wine and a designated toy made like the New Year’s mascot, a toy monkey – are all packed in this exquisite bamboo basket.

“Ji Xiang Ru Yi” Hamper priced at RMB 428
This hamper includes salty chicken (500g), Jinling water-boiled duck (800g), home-made honey trotters (1kg), beef and Cangshu lamb (250g).  Guests may enjoy the different meat tastes in traditional Jiangsu style when this hamper is purchased.  Guests can also customise the hamper according to their personal requirements.

“Sea Cucumber” Hamper priced at RMB 688
This hamper consists of 12 sea cucumbers, which boasts anti-aging benefits, builds up resistance to diseases and is good for the complexion.  This gift will be a great addition for your New Year’s celebration.

“Golden Monkey” Hamper priced at RMB 888
This hamper contains imported red wine, a box of lobster sauce, plum wine, traditional “Su” wine, loquat honey, a New Year mascot toy monkey, home-made chocolate, Tie Guan Yin Tea and bird’s nest.  The rich ingredients are packed in a big red leather gift box that may be used not only as a gift, but also as a storage basket for the home or office.

“Deluxe Sea Cucumber” Hamper priced at RMB 2,288
