Staging Connections collaborates with long term partner Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney on their Grand Ballroom redevelopment

Staging Connections has confirmed its long held position as the in house audio visual partner at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney with the recent launch of the renovated Grand Ballroom.

Following a   17-year partnership, Director of Venues, Terry Oomens was delighted to announce that Staging Connections will continue providing the very best audio visual solutions for the 18 event spaces throughout Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney including the newly refurbished Grand Ballroom.

We have worked closely throughout the redevelopment of the Grand Ballroom to ensure the highest quality, industry leading equipment was integrated into the venue,” said Mr  Oomens.

The Grand Ballroom, launched on 6 November 2013, underwent a $6 million redevelopment including a complete technical renovation that Staging Connections played a vital role in the architecture and delivery of. The Staging Connections team worked with the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney team to ensure that the 668 square metre Grand Ballroom now has full High Definition (HD) picture and projection capability. The space also features 69 light-emitting diode (LED) ceiling lights which can be individually remote controlled to highlight table centrepieces or specific areas of an event.

Instrumental in launching the refurbished Grand Ballroom in style, Staging Connections Digital Design Director, Sydney Bouhaniche developed a customised animation design for the opening event. The custom animations were projected from a 30 degree angle resulting in images illuminating on the front, side and top of standard light boxes, a unique and special effect.

The Grand Ballroom, located on level B of the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney is able to accommodate up to 850 guests for cocktail receptions and 500 guests for banquets.

As the in-house AV partner, Staging Connections can offer the full breadth of event staging services, including the latest digital projection mapping and webcasting technology at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney to deliver outstanding high-quality events.
