Dubai’s reputation as the ultimate city of contrasts, is perfectly exemplified by the excellent Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, which although surrounded by soaring modern skyscrapers and fast highways, Dubai’s ancient mosques and traditional souk markets are just a stone’s throw away.
Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai’s, 302 exceptionally spacious guestrooms and suites offer what is described as Arabian inspired luxury and warm earth tones, enhanced by rich sycamore veneers and original local artworks, providing what is described as an intimate and welcoming sanctuary in the heart of a vibrant metropolis, and that is exactly what I found when I stayed there recently, but I also experienced much more than that with some of the best trained staff and highest quality customer service I have experienced anywhere … and free wifi – yeesss!
Just 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport and with the World Trade Centre, Dubai Convention Centre, Dubai Financial Centre and downtown Burj Khalifa just five minutes away, Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai really located in the heart of Dubai, with Dubai’s famous malls, including Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Festival City, all centres for luxury designer label products, just down the road.
Back at the Shangri-La Hotel Dubai, Dunes Café offers stunning and very high quality buffet breakfasts, arguably one of the best I have experienced, lunches and dinners with also modern Vietnamese cuisine at Hoi Ann and renowned Cantonese cuisine at Shangri-La’s signature Chinese restaurant, Shang Palace and a range of great bars including at the pool, which becomes ikandy in the evenings.
